feu. Kyoto Artisan-Handcrafted Japanese Traditional Candle irodori
Step away from the waves of information and create an "empty space" just for you.
20 minutes of profound tranquility woven by a flickering flame.
Introducing "feu.", a new Japanese candle crafted for our modern lives by the master artisan.
Bright rooms that have forgotten the night, and a constant, overflowing wave of information. While our "seeing too much" everyday life is convenient, it somehow strips away the comforting "empty space" in our minds.
This Japanese candle is meticulously handcrafted one by one using traditional methods, utilizing only natural materials: 100% plant-based rice bran wax, traditional Japanese paper (washi), and a core of dried rush grass (igusa). When lit, it reveals a large, powerfully flickering flame that seems to breathe with life.
Its burning time of approximately 20 minutes serves as an intentional boundary drawn in time and space, separating you from the information society. Just as a bonfire creates a sanctuary in the dark, gaze into the powerful flame and take a deep breath. That moment of sighing "phew" ("feu" in Japanese) awakens the pure, honest senses you may have almost lost, transforming your daily life into a deeply peaceful "Zen space."
It comes with 7 matches for lighting.
Please note that the candlestick is not included.

Lighting up tradition and illuminating the times.
Japanese candle craftsman, Tagawa Koichi.
We continue to carry on the tradition of applying layers of wax to each piece using the skilled ``hand-made method.''
The flames created by Tagawa flicker quietly, as if breathing from a hollow core, and simply gazing at them brings a deep sense of peace.
What is put into the products is the hope that traditional crafts will become a part of everyday life and that they will serve as a catalyst for creating rich ``space.''
The warmth and powerful light derived from plants can never be expressed with chemical products.
What Tagawa's handiwork delivers is not just light, but "quiet time" that will help us welcome a prosperous tomorrow.
